RSS is system where you can subscribe to the content of a regularly updated website. Using the correct software means that, rather than constantly visiting a site to look for new updates, you can refer to an RSS feed which will tell you of anything new.
To view an RSS feed, you will need to use an RSS reader, such as:
We have the following RSS feeds:
Our most powerful RSS feeds however are our search Feeds. Whenever you do a search for either our animals or rescues, you can also subscribe to the feed for that specific search.
For Example, let's say that you were to search for Dogs in Oxfordshire in Great Britain. You would do a search with these parameters on the search page. Once the results appeared you could click on the RSS icon and you would have a link to an RSS feed for Dogs in Oxfordshire. You could subscribe to as many different variations of these as you wished.
This is particularly useful if you are waiting for a certain type of animal to become available near you. Let's say you were searching particularly for a Female Guinea Pig and you live in Berkshire. You could do a search for these parameters but there may not be any results yet. You could however subscribe to the feed for that search, and when an animal which fits those requirements is added to the site maybe a month later, it will be reported you via your RSS reader. This saves you having to come back to the site every day to see if the animal you want it there, and you also will be told of the animal being added as soon as you refer to your RSS reader.
We have 3 RSS buttons available for you to use:
: Will allow you to quickly add the feed to your Google Homepage or Google Reader
: Will allow you to quickly add the feed to your Yahoo Homepage
: This is a link directly to the Feed. If you use it the Firefox browser should recognise that this is a feed and give you the option to add it to live bookmarks and other places. We hope you will find the RSS feeds we provide useful.
